Graeme McDowell

On the course Graeme’s greatest achievements, so far in his career, include victory at the 2010 US Open Champion at Pebble Beach and in the same year sealing victory in the Ryder Cup for Europe at Celtic Manor. Off the course Graeme enjoys spending time with his family and friends in both Florida and his birthplace Portrush, watching football and movies.

The G-Mac Foundation was set up by my wife, Kristin and I and supports children’s medical research in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and in the United States.

In 2013 Graeme opened the Nona Blue Modern Tavern restaurant and bar outside Lake Nona in Orlando and in 2016 he opened Nona Blue Ponte Vedra Beach just outside the gates of PGA TOUR headquarters. Included on the menu is the must-try G-Mac and Cheese!

In 2022 Graeme teamed up with Global Award Winning Beverage Company to launch a new Irish Whiskey with an American Finish. “Grey Coast is a representation of me and my life. From overseeing every aspect of the brand to doing numerous tastings until the unique blend of whiskies was just right, I’ve worked hard to ensure this whiskey reflects who I am – and I couldn’t be happier with the result.” Grey Coast Whiskey is available across North America and Ireland.

LIV GOLF ANDALUCÍA 2024

Jul 12—14, 2024

It was a tough week in Andalucía for G-Mac and his team Smash GC. Valderrama showed it’s teeth and from the off it was hard going. Graeme opened with a +4 followed by +6 on Saturday. As always with the Portrush man, he never gives up and pulled out his best round on Sunday with a level par. Onwards!

RESULT: T42
SCORE +4(75), +6(77), E(71), TOT +10

Smash GC finished in 13th postion with a score of +23 (R1 +13, R2 +3, R3 +7 Tot +23)

In the word of his team, “defeat is temporary, grit is forever.”

Course Details

Some holes have a ring to them, right? Amen Corner at Augusta, the Road Hole at St Andrews… and the 17th at Valderrama. This natural amphitheater has become a legend in itself, a sun-drenched setting for comebacks, triple bogeys, even an albatross from our very own Graeme McDowell.

Valderrama, located in Andalucia in southern Spain, is loved by top golfers and fans of the game alike. The pros enjoy the beautifully presented course, which is long, technical and extremely testing. Spectators appreciate the stunning scenery and the chance to see many of the world’s best players up close.

LIV GOLF NASHVILLE 2024

Jun 21-23,2024

Graeme and his Smash teammates, Brooks Koepka, Talor Gooch and Jason Kokrak headed into the week in fifth place on the team rankings. With Graeme sitting in 21st place on the individual rankings, he was looking for a solid week to consolidate his position. It wasn’t to be with a disappointing T42 finish at The Grove Club designed by LIV Golf’s CEO Greg Norman. After a 2 over opening round, G-Mac dug in on Day 2 with a score of 3 under, which included 4 birdies and 1 dropped shot. On Sunday, Graeme opened with a birdie but dropped back with 2 dropped shots on the front 9. He levelled up the day on his 17th (10th hole on the course) with a birdie to end the round Even, 1 under for the week.

RESULT: T42
SCORE: +2(73), -3(69), E(71), Tot -1

Smash GC finished in 12th position with a total of -12 (R1, -2, R2, -11, R3, +1).

Course Details

It’s nearly 80 years since Nashville welcomed big-time golf. This course, designed by our CEO Greg Norman, is worth the wait.

The McCrory Creek, which glides through the middle of The Grove, provides one of the most beguiling natural hazards you’ve ever seen in golf. And there are plenty of man-made ponds around the greens and fairways, creating further pitfalls for those who go too big on the tee.

Overall, though, this course should reward bold, adventurous golf. The greens are fast, the fairways are generous and the scenery… well, that’s spectacular.

LIV GOLF – HONG KONG 2025

Mar 07th – 09th, 2025

LIV Golf’s latest event rolled into Fanlin, Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Golf Club.

Having finished 8th place last year it is an event that Graeme’s enjoys.

G-Mac opened his account with an opening 2 under par which included three birdies with one dropped shot.

It was on day Day 2 that Graeme found his rhythm shooting a fantastic five-under par to put him just four shots off the pace. This moved him up to seventh place and in good shape on the leaderboard at seven-under-par.

However, despite a strong stretch of four birdies in seven holes on Sunday, Graeme slipped out of the top 10. A bogey on the par-4 11th (his 10th hole of the day) and a late double bogey on the 18th (his 17th hole) saw him drop to 12th place. He finished the event with a 2-under-par round, ending the week at 9-under-par.

Result: T12, -2, -5, -2, Total -9

Team Smash GC finished in 12th place with a score of +3, -15, -5, Total -17

THE COURSE

Now, LIV Golf is here to write a fresh chapter in this amazing history. Last year’s debut brought a record single-day crowd to Fanling, finishing in twin thrillers on the final day.

Whether you caught LIV Golf Hong Kong last year or you’re making your own debut this time, here’s everything to know as we begin the first Asian leg of our season.

Hong Kong Golf Club can trace its history all the way back to 1889 and the current course was first laid in 1911. It’s been hosting the Hong Kong Open every year since 1959 (our own Patrick Reed, of 4Aces GC, took the last one in 2024).

How does this course play?

Tight and tough. Fanling is one of the smallest courses in golf, so bomb and gouge (the golfers’ term for distance over accuracy) won’t cut it.

Course Stats: 6691 Yards, Par 70.
