Graeme McDowell
On the course Graeme’s greatest achievements, so far in his career, include victory at the 2010 US Open Champion at Pebble Beach and in the same year sealing victory in the Ryder Cup for Europe at Celtic Manor. Off the course Graeme enjoys spending time with his family and friends in both Florida and his birthplace Portrush, watching football and movies.
The G-Mac Foundation was set up by my wife, Kristin and I and supports children’s medical research in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and in the United States.
In 2013 Graeme opened the Nona Blue Modern Tavern restaurant and bar outside Lake Nona in Orlando and in 2016 he opened Nona Blue Ponte Vedra Beach just outside the gates of PGA TOUR headquarters. Included on the menu is the must-try G-Mac and Cheese!
In 2022 Graeme teamed up with Global Award Winning Beverage Company to launch a new Irish Whiskey with an American Finish. “Grey Coast is a representation of me and my life. From overseeing every aspect of the brand to doing numerous tastings until the unique blend of whiskies was just right, I’ve worked hard to ensure this whiskey reflects who I am – and I couldn’t be happier with the result.” Grey Coast Whiskey is available across North America and Ireland.

A fantastic final round for Graeme posting a 5 under par to finish in 5th place. This was his best finish on the LIV circuit and on the final round all the hard work came together. He carded 5 birdies with no dropped shots to be pushing for the lead at the end. Not only was it an amazing week for Graeme, his team SMASH GC came home winners in the team event. Koepka (Captain), Gooch, Kokrak & McDowell had a combined total of -33, a massive seven shots ahead of the 2nd place ACES GC.
Graeme scored a level-par 70 in round two at Las Vegas Country Club to fall seven back of the fast pace set by Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau. It was a case of one step forward, one step back for the Portrush man who fired three birdies but mixed in three bogeys as well, falling back from tied seventh to tied 26th as several players went low around the desert layout.
Graeme McDowell posted his best opening score since LIV’s arrival to sit just three off the lead in a share of seventh place after day one at Las Vegas County Club. Starting on the sixth hole in the shotgun start format, the Portrush man opened his birdie account with a three on the par-4 seventh, then added two more back-to-back on 12 and 13 before a bogey at 14, his only dropped shot of the day, momentarily halted the charge. He’d respond in ideal fashion with birdie at the par-5 15th, covering his opening nine in three-under. Another birdie at the first took him to -4 for the day, and he’d par his way to the par-3 fifth – his 18th – where a pinpoint iron shot left him a short birdie putt, only to see the four-footer slide by, ending an otherwise excellent opening effort on a rather sour note.

LIV Golf is about to take over a true Las Vegas institution, where the rich and famous have been sinking putts and cutting deals since 1967.
The Las Vegas Country club has hosted multiple pro tournaments, including the Las Vegas Invitational won by our own commissioner Greg Norman. The clubhouse, meanwhile, has provided sanctuary to Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Joe DiMaggio.
This venue once witnessed a classic ‘what happens in Vegas’ tale, when an FBI plane landed in a water hazard. Now, it’s time for another incredible story.

LIV GOLF MAYAKOBA 2024

El Camaleón Golf Course, Mayakoba, Mexico
Graeme got his Smash GC debut underway with a T43 finish. With a course Par of 71 G-Mac scored E, +3 and +1 to end the week +4. Graeme’s best spell was in his opening round with a run of 4 birdies in 5 holes from the 6th to 10th holes, after that he struggled and couldn’t get any momentum going which dropped down the leaderboard.
Team Smash GC had an overall score of -12 to put them in 7 position.

The El Cameleón Course sits on the Riviera Maya, just down the coast from honeymoon hotbed Cancun, and Mayakoba and LIV Golf promises to be a match made in heaven.
The course, designed by LIV Golf Commissioner & CEO Greg Norman, fuses challenging holes with glorious scenery in a breathtaking beach-side setting. It’s the perfect venue for great golfing action.

LIV GOLF CHICAGO

Graeme was back in action this week at Bolingbrook Golf Club, Illinois which is located just forty minutes southwest of Chicago.
G-Mac was one under par after five holes on his opening round. He then dropped three shots in a four-hole stretch in the middle of his round, but bounced back with back-to-back birdies on his closing two for a two-over tally putting him tied for 33rd. Day 2 was much the same with four dropped shots and two birdies with left him going into the final day in T38 place on +4.
With Graeme needing a good score to boost his 2024 LIV Golf League standings, he pulled out a great final round of four under par 66. No matter what Graeme never gives up and his final day showed his grit. After 16 holes he was five under with no dropped shots, the one mark on his card came at the par 4, 10 (his 17th).
Graeme’s 2024 Individual Competition ended with him in 29 position putting him in the Open Zone.
Going into 2024 Team Championship next week in Dallas, his team Smash GC are running in 4 place.

SCORE +2(72), +2(72), -4(66), TOT -E
Smash GC ended the week in 8th place with a score of -7 (R1 -5, R2 +5, R3 -7 Tot -7)

Designed by famed architect Arthur Hills and partner Steve Forrest, Bolingbrook Golf Club, located just 30 miles from downtown Chicago, features a 156-yard island green on its signature 15th hole.
The 7,104-yard Par 70 layout offers rolling fairways and elevated greens, winding around seven different lakes. Selected by the PGA Tour as one of the host venues for the Forme Tour in 2021, Bolingbrook will host this year’s LIV Golf Chicago event, one of our two showpiece finales to the season which will crown the overall individual champion.
