Valderrama Provides Tough Challenge for G-Mac and OKGC

A tough week at a tough venue for Graeme, who finished in a tie for 51st place at the renowned Real Club Valderrama.

As always, Valderrama proved to be one of the sternest tests in professional golf, with firm fairways, thick rough, swirling winds and lightning-fast greens making scoring difficult throughout the field.

Graeme opened with an even-par 71 to sit comfortably in the pack after the first round, but increasingly demanding conditions over the weekend made it difficult to build momentum. Rounds of 74, 76 and 76 saw him finish the tournament at 13-over par.

OKGC Finish 10th in Team Competition

In the team event, OKGC finished in 10th place. While the result was below the team’s ambitions, the squad showed resilience on a course that tested every aspect of the game. Valderrama’s difficulty meant consistency was at a premium, and every player faced periods where limiting mistakes became the priority.

R1 +6, R2 -3, R3 +14, R4 +3, Total +20

With the European swing continuing, G-Mac and OKGC will look to take the positives from Andalucía and build momentum heading into the next event.

“Valderrama doesn’t give you anything. Every shot demands total commitment, and this year’s tournament was no exception.”
